Hey Newgrounds, Nano here!
I'd like to end the Newgrounds year with a recap of what happened this year!
On January 11, was my birthday! My friend visited me and we had a great time with my birthday celebration.
Also, National Treasure: Edge of History came out, it was great seeing that universe of National Treasure once more!
In February, sprite animation wise, I put out Megaman X vs. Tahu Nuva! Also in February, me and my co host finally put out the Megaman X Boss Battle Collab, a Megaman X sprite animation Collab featuring animators animating any characters vs. Mavericks and other bosses from the Megaman X series! Do give it a watch when you get the chance! :]
In March, iirc, I was job hunting. I started many WIP sprite animations which are viewable here in this WIP Medley 3!
In April, creatively, no new sprite animations, weird huh? I usually post sprite animations once a month :P I got sidetracked by irl's job hunt I guess XD
May is when I resumed sprite animating! I put out Metal Sonic | Never Let It Go, a change from the usual Megaman X sprite animations I animate. I always wanted to tackle classic Sonic in sprite animation, and made several unpublished attempts to capture that in sprite animation, but that was my first major animation that was completed to the point of publishing it online! This animation, although I am satisfied with how it came out, is a candidate for a remake! With an extended fight scene between Sonic and Metal Sonic, add parallaxing to the background, possibly make Sonic go Super when he avenges Metal Sonic, etc.
In June, I returned to the Megaman X vs. Zombies Saga with a Season 2 Episode 1! I really missed working on this series! It was great working with the VAs who reprised their roles from the Episode 7 final episode of Season 1! More is in store for this Saga, starting with the later episodes of Season 2 :D So stay tuned in the future for more material for this Saga!
In July, I landed an internship! That impacted my ability to sprite animate. I felt like I had to pick in between doing well at the internship or devote free time to sprite animation, ultimately I picked the internship. The sprite animation I was working on as a paid commission for a client, Zelda vs. Peach, was cancelled. If you're curious to see what was completed of that, it can be viewed in WIP Medley 4.
Which brings us to August! After cancelling the other project, I was free to take on a personal sprite animation once more once I got used to the flow of the internship! This sprite animation is the Custom Robo Tribute | Ray vs. enemy bot one! This project was unique because it's the first time I ripped many sprites from the game itself via emulators and screenshots and the like to sprite animate it! I think that gave it a even more hand-made touch than most of my other sprite animation projects. Maybe in the future when I get better at ripping sprites from the Custom Robo GX game I'll sprite animate more Custom Robo projects :] In the end of August, my internship ended, but! I got an interview at the very end of that internship for a different internship! Until then...
In September, I had free time, which was nice because it freed me up to make more projects! I finished up this project that I had in the works for a year, Megaman X5 | X vs. Awakened Zero!
In the beginning of October began my newer and current internship! It was a rough beginning for it, but later on it became very good. Co workers and boss are great to get along with, and the clerical work I do is easy to learn. Staying focused on the work for long periods of time is my weak spot lol, but eh. It's a part time gig anyway so it's not that bad. I hope to turn the internship into a permanent job one day. Creatively wise in October, I worked on a new Megaman X sprite animation, what would become Megaman X vs. Adversaries in November! With this one, I did much more experimenting with background choices and music choices, and feedback listening than usual, and let the animation cook for 2 months instead of the usual 1 month. I'd say the end result was worth it overall though some parts could have used more polish :]
In December, the internship steadily progressed as the holiday season approached! I had two holiday parties back to back :D And to top it off, I had a 2 week ish long vacation to Amman, Jordan, where I visited my grandparents, relatives, and visited ancient Roman ruins while I was there! And more :D I came back from that vacation to New York refreshed and missing everyone and stuff here! Creatively in this time, I am working on a sprite animation, called Knuckles vs. Mecha Sonic! It will probably be ready sometime in the future, either next month or whenether depending on how the progress in it goes. This sprite animation is another classic Sonic sprite animation, but this time I want the characters to fight more in a fast paced action style. I hope to share that project when it's done!
Thank you for the continued support, here is to the future while honoring the past and gracefully navigating the present! Merry Xmas/Holidays and have a great rest of 2023! In case I don't make another post about it, have a Happy New Year 2024 as well!

Bonus:
I forgot to mention it in September, but I dabbled with interactive SWF content once more in this upload! You pick the music for a sprite animation battle! :D Also, I began to take Blender more seriously because in the future, I wish to make either 2.5D and or full 3D animations in the spirit of my current sprite animation action battles! Hopefully, if I progress in these areas, it will produce thrilling results! But yea until then...Nano out!

It's great that 2023 was such a productive year for you. What more can us creative folk hope for, than a life full of achievements, eh?
Let's hope 2024 is just as wonderful for you...or better. Also, I didn't know about your trip. It's too bad that 1) I'm not nearby & 2) we don't know each other in real life. Otherwise I would happily have been along for the ride! I've been to the Near East too but not to Jordan, & my trip there was many years ago. It would be eye-opening to see what's changed since then, not to mention a new (for me) part of it. So much history in the region!...

Thank you so much! I agree with you, 2023 was a productive year for me indeed :] Here's hoping your 2024 is just as wonderful/better for you!
I am flattered you would have joined me, but those kinds of Jordan trips are typically personal family-related trips. On the other hand, if I was able to travel for pure vacation reasons by myself, then welcome along! :]
Main changes in Jordan pretty much involve 2 things: 1.) Much more buildings built and more to come and 2.) The addition of the high speed bus, which is closer to MTA style buses in function, speed, payment methods, etc. And yes, you are right! Jordan and the surrounding countries have alot of history in them dating back millennia so it's definitely neat to explore and soak it in in person :]
